Replacement part. Sandwiched between lower end of sampling tube and cutting tip. Directs flow of soil into the liner. Without it, clay samples have a tendency to crumple the plastic liners.
The ESP pulls a 3 (or 4) foot long by 0.8 inch diameter sample in one plunge. It captures every sample in a plastic (or stainless steel) liner and can sample to 3 (or 4) feet (30 feet with extensions). Sampling tube is driven by a 12.5 pound drop-hammer (or electric hammer) and retrieved with a foot-operated jack.
This extension lets you sample three feet deeper provided you have a ESP Plus Sampling Tube and a JMC ESP Plus Master Extension. Regular extensions connect to each other for additional sampling depth capability.
Use our solid tip instead of a cutting tip to plunge to desired depth without filling the sampling tube. Useful for creating small diameter monitoring wells or limiting sample debris.
